Education and Awareness-Building

A pillar of Mikana’s work

Educating and raising awareness among non-indigenous people about the realities and history of Indigenous Peoples is a key area of focus for Mikana. We firmly believe that a deeper understanding is essential to initiate constructive dialogue, raise awareness and humanize relations between communities.

Our mission is to deconstruct racism and colonialism by promoting greater mutual respect and understanding.

Customized & progressive awareness-raising activities

We offer a wide range of awareness-raising activities adapted to different levels of knowledge and understanding. These activities are designed to ensure continued, relevant progress for each participant.

Whether it’s a conference, workshop or training session, each activity is designed with a specific methodology, adapted duration and clear objectives to ensure effective and relevant learning.

At the end of each session, a Q&A period is included to allow participants to clarify any doubts and deepen their understanding in an interactive and caring environment.

We are committed to creating a safe space for sharing, where each participant feels respected and valued. This safe framework is essential to ensure the success of our

“I am involved with Mikana as an Ambassador because I really want to share all the knowledge that was transmitted to me when I travelled to different Nations. It is also to be part of a popular education process, so that the general population can become more aware of indigenous realities and our common history.”
