Kakone kisis (September) – is a time to gather, reflect, and remember.
It’s been a little while since our last newsletter — and there’s a good reason. September is Mikana’s busiest time of year, and we’ve been behind the scenes preparing for a month of learning and connection.
With September 30 — the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — less than a week away, we’re sharing our definitive list of upcoming events and opportunities to take part.
Whether you’re looking to learn, listen, attend an event or support Indigenous-led work, there are many ways to engage.
This season also brings the autumn equinox, a moment of balance as day and night meet before the days begin to grow shorter. It offers a fitting invitation to pause and consider what we carry forward — and what we might do differently.
We hope you’ll find a meaningful way to mark September 30, and we invite you to explore what’s happening in your community!
